Equine Services
I am a qualified equine behaviour consultant and a Provisional Member of the APBC who is passionate about animal welfare and supporting people to have the best relationship possible using a compassionate trauma-sensitive horse centred approach. I am also trained in Family Animal Mediation utilising the LEGS model created by Kim Brophy, this model incorporates all of the elements that contribute to your horse’s behaviour including their learning ( including socialisation, life experiences and education, the effects of their environment, their genetics and everything that makes up who they are including their health, relationships and unique likes and dislikes
Learning-All of your horses’ learning across their life-time their education and life experiences.
Environment- All of the environments your horse has been exposed to in their life-time and how this shapes their behaviour. It includes not just their physical environment but their social environment and social interactions. These influence how your horse responds, interacts and experiences their world. This includes whether their environment is impoverished or appropriately enriched. Early environments are extremely influential.
Genetics- These are all of the inherited traits and characteristics that your horse is born with including their breed traits. Your horses genetics are the building blocks for their physical traits, behaviour and any potential health or behaviour issues they might be predisposed to. Generics always interact with your horses environment. They are not predictive and only one factor in your horses’ behaviour and health.
Self- Your horses’ self refers to their unique internal influences their behaviour, physical health and emotional and psychological well-being. It encompasses every aspect we need to consider to provide your dog with individualised care and support.
